Our Mission: Safer
Long-Distance Moving

We are an independent team that checks moving companies so you don’t have to. We exist to make sure your cross-country move is safe, transparent, and free from hidden scams.

Why We Were Founded

Moving to a new state is hard. Trusting a stranger with your belongings is even harder. Unfortunately, the moving industry is full of “brokers” who sell your information and “carriers” who don’t actually own trucks.

The Certified Mover Association (CMA) was started in 2020 to fix this. We are a private watchdog. That means we don’t work for the government, and we don’t work for the moving companies. We work for you.

We dig deep. We check Department of Transportation records, verify ownership, and physically inspect offices to ensure the movers on our list are real, honest, and reliable for long-distance hauls.

Independent

We don’t take money from big industry lobbyists. Our reviews are 100% unbiased.

Thorough Checks

We go beyond the license number. We check trucks, offices, and insurance papers.

Questions & Answers

How does CMA stay neutral?

We are privately owned and do not accept government subsidies. This means we don’t have to bow to political pressure or big industry money. Our only goal is to tell you the truth about movers.

What makes a mover “Certified”?

To get certified, a mover must prove they own their trucks, have valid insurance, and have a track record of happy customers. They must be transparent about their pricingโ€”no hidden fees allowed.
